In order to continuously take into account changes in the Group’s business environment, to further simplify and streamline its decision making processes and to better prepare it for the implementation of the numerous initiatives which will result from the ongoing strategy review, the Board of Directors of Bobst Group SA, Prilly/Switzerland, has decided to adapt the organizational structure of the Group.
First, the separately managed Sales and Service forces in the over 25 countries around the world, where Bobst Group is present with its own organizations, will merge with the three business areas: Folding Carton, Corrugated Board and Flexible Materials. This will allow to simplify the existing matrix organizational structure and the Group to adapt even faster to market needs.
Secondly, in order to give the necessary focus to the strategic business development and to drive various Group initiatives which will result from the current strategy review, a “Group Business Development” function is added to the Group Executive Committee.
Based on these changes, the Group Executive Committee will be composed as follows as of January 1st, 2008:
- Mr. Andreas Koopmann, CEO
- Mr. Olivier Gardiol, Head Business Area Folding Carton
- Mr. Daniel Jourdan, Head Business Area Corrugated Board
- Mr. Claude Currat, Head Business Area Flexible Materials
- Mr. Christian Budry, CFO
- Mr. Jean-Pascal Bobst, Head Technology, Supply, Production and Logistics
- Mr. Michel Fiaux, Head Group Business Development
Mr. Zhanbing Ren, today Head Market Organization Greater China, will keep the responsibility of the Group operations in Greater China and head the regional operations management for all of Asia. He will report to the CEO.
Mr. Philippe de Preux, today Head Market Organization India, South-East Asia, Oceania, Japan, Korea and CIS has expressed the wish to dedicate time to humanitarian endeavours, in particular in developing countries, and for this will leave the Group at the end of June 2008.
Mr. Jean-Noël Thélin, today Head Market Organization Americas, Middle-East and Africa, and project leader Program GO (Group Optimization) has decided to reorient his professional career outside of Bobst Group starting end of 2007.
Today already, Bobst Group thanks both Mr. Philippe de Preux and Mr. Jean-Noël Thélin for their very important contributions to the success of the Group during their respective 30 and 18 years of serving the Group.
This change in organization is in line with the transformation process initiated in the Group with the competitivity improvement Program GO at the beginning of 2005 and which will end in three months. This new organization will allow to continue to drive efficiency initiatives in the coming years.
