Following the installation of a BOBST LEMANIC® DELTA gravure printing and converting line, dedicated to the production of flip-top tobacco boxes, Robin Printing & Packages Ltd has increased cigarette packaging production volume by 70 billion sticks each year at its purpose-built facility in Sreepur.
The installation in 2019 was the first of its kind, not only in Bangladesh but the entire Indian subcontinent!
Robin Printing & Packages Ltd, founded in 1969, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019 with the installation of BOBST LEMANIC DELTA. The business is a pioneer in the printing and converting of packaging and counts British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) and other leading global brands among its customers. With a clear commitment to producing premium quality products, using best-in-class equipment, Robin Printing & Packages Ltd has been able to grow its business and expand its presence in markets including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), household, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
The business was established in the mid-sixties in Tongi, north of Dhaka city, by Mohammed Hussain, with a plant dedicated to letterpress before moving towards sheet-fed offset and eventually integrating gravure technology. Today, it remains family-owned and has grown to include a second printing plant in Joydevpur and, since 2012, a flexible materials division, to the meet the needs of customers across all the markets it serves.
Prior to investing in the BOBST LEMANIC DELTA line, Robin Printing & Packages Ltd’s tally of BOBST machinery included a Champlain gravure press - the company’s first BOBST asset installed in 1993; a ROTOMEC 888 machine for gravure printing of flexible materials, installed in 2012; and a RS5002 gravure printing press installed in 2018.

At Robin Printing & Packages Ltd, the BOBST LEMANIC DELTA printing press configuration comprises a double reel unwinder with automatic 0-speed splicer at full production speed, 11 printing units that are thermal oil heated, inline quality control system Registron® iQ 400, a rotary die-cutter RDC 82 D with three stations and manual delivery.
Popular with major multi-national cigarette brand owners, the BOBST LEMANIC DELTA offers superior accuracy and the highest print quality in terms of visual impact and consistency. Providing up to 12 colour printing, the press can process metallic and fluorescent inks as well as water-based inks and coatings, ensuring production flexibility.
Adapted for short to medium run production, the BOBST LEMANIC® DELTA printing lines make gravure affordable even for short run jobs, featuring 30% shorter web path than conventional presses, quick settings and fast change-over. Significant waste savings are achieved thanks to the BOBST Registron® print-to-print register control system.
It offers a range of converting solutions including rotary die-cut, a consistent method adapted for standard packaging shapes, a sheeter, a sheet-fed process dedicated to value adding post-processing, and flatbed cutter-creasing to create versatility in term of shapes, market segments and cost efficient & fast available tooling.
