Great Wall Mintpack’s investment in BOBST equipment was intended to enhance its internal capabilities and digital management proficiency with advanced SAP & ERP systems. These investments included BOBST's RS 5003 gravure printing press and the NOVA DA 800 multi-technology laminator.
Just over a year after its installation, the benefits of this technology are clear to see. The RS 5003 gravure printing press operates smoothly and efficiently, significantly improving Great Wall Mintpack’s production efficiency and helping it reduce energy consumption. Wang Dong, Director of Great Wall Mintpack’s Equipment Department, highlighted several key features: The RS 5003’s tension system enables high-precision rewinding and unwinding tension control, reducing splicing and cutting losses. Even at speeds of 300-350m/min, it ensures high-precision winding and stable registration.
He said: “Fast changeovers are facilitated by a swift-changing scraper, improving accuracy, and reducing knife lines. The dryer design, featuring BOBST's dryer slag liquid system, enhances drying efficiency and energy savings. The dynamic balancing design of the cooling tube improves overprinting accuracy. Even when overprinting with matte ink, it’s easy to achieve the ideal state. “Finally, the TAPS system facilitates one-key registration. When transitioning to a new plate, registration can be calibrated directly, reducing the need for manual color checks, minimizing losses, and making it user-friendly for operators.”
The DA 800 multi-technology laminator is also helping Great Wall Mintpack achieve faster changeovers through its swift disassembly and recipe memorization. Its horizontal dryer facilitates easy adjustments without causing damage, and the maximum material change waste is only 50 meters. Its Registron® automatic registration and positioning cold sealant coating technology can detect the cold sealant coating position in real time, reducing waste, improving the optical performance of composite products, and minimizing the generation of crystal points and bubbles.
The uniqueness of Great Wall Mintpack's equipment extends beyond BOBST's printing and laminating equipment, encompassing intelligent three-dimensional warehouses, automatic color matching systems, ERP management systems, lamination curing workshops, and one-object-one-code inkjet coding workshops.
