BOBST and MYUNGJI P&P: A Strong Partnership Driving Innovation in South Korea
BOBST has maintained a long-standing and successful partnership with MYUNGJI P&P, one of South Korea’s leading flexible packaging providers. Together, they have collaborated on delivering advanced packaging solutions, combining BOBST’s world-class technology with MYUNGJI’s local expertise and market insight. This partnership continues to drive innovation, improve productivity, and meet the evolving demands of the Korean packaging industry.

Yasser Oweida, Region Services Director, Asia Pacific, said: “Our partnerships with flexible packaging customers in South Korea were not smooth sailing to begin with, especially with installations taking place during the challenging years of COVID. However, we took responsibility, and my team poured their hearts into understanding the situation, adapting, and making things right for our customers. Attendees witnessed live demonstrations of BOBST’s innovative RS 5003 gravure press, running MDOPE mono-material at 300 m/min and laminated with aluminum, as well as the VISIONLAM 800 laminator, also operating at 300 m/min. The demonstrations showcased outstanding print quality and impressive production results.

“The BOBST RS 5003 gravure press is a game-changing solution that is transforming the way converters operate, with full automation and digitalization at its core. The efficiency of BOBST’s technology also helps to reduce waste and downtime, supporting MYUNGJI P&P’s cost control and sustainability goals. The easy-to-use interface has been embraced by younger operators, enhancing workforce efficiency and confidence, and BOBST’s ongoing support through its HELPLINE service subscription ensures long-lasting improvements to uptime and performance.

“At BOBST, customer-centricity goes beyond delivering exceptional machines — it’s about providing comprehensive support throughout the entire lifecycle. From the availability of top-quality certified spare parts to access a global network of technical experts, we ensure our customers experience unmatched reliability, speed, and performance,” said Yasser Oweida.

The event also featured presentations from key technology and process partners, covering various aspects of the flexible packaging value chain. Mr. Gun-Wung Park, Managing Director of MYUNGJI P&P, commented: “MYUNGJI and BOBST have enjoyed a long and successful partnership. BOBST equipment has consistently delivered the productivity and performance we need to stay ahead of market growth and meet the evolving demands of our customers.”

As customer demand shifts toward shorter runs and recyclable mono-material packaging, MYUNGJI P&P’s investments in BOBST machinery are helping the company prepare for the future. MYUNGJI P&P has already announced plans to expand with a new factory that will increase its pouching capacity, and combined with its BOBST technology and ongoing partnership, it is positioning itself well to capture the growing demand for more sustainable packaging.

Reflecting on the event, Diego added: “We are proud to have welcomed customers, partners, and industry experts to this highly informative Open House co-hosted with MYUNGJI. It demonstrates once again that BOBST provides the right solutions to produce outstanding flexible packaging, enabling converters to build workflows tailored to their business models and customer needs.”
