IVE managing director Matt Aitken said the decision to install the BOBST NOVACUT in Sydney was deliberately made to mirror the existing installation at the company’s Braeside production facility in Melbourne.
“It was important to us that, when we set up here in Sydney, we mirrored the profile we had already built in Melbourne, so we can support our national clients from either site,” Aitken said.
“BOBST is a partner we trust. They’re well known in the market for reliability and quality, and here in Australia, that’s backed by a strong local team in Miro and Carsten from Print & Pack. Having a reliable partner on the ground makes a real difference.
“BOBST has been closely involved with us throughout, both through the time our team has spent with them in Europe and here in Australia. They’ve been an important partner in our packaging expansion in Sydney.
“What BOBST gives us is consistency across the business from a technology standpoint – equipment that’s reliable and simply doesn’t stop. It’s a strong partnership, and one that’s core to the capability we’re building for our clients."
Aitken said theBOBST finishing equipment now runs 24 hours a day, chosen specifically to minimise delays or bottlenecks in production.
“The team from BOBST, working alongside Print & Pack, has done a great job ensuring we run the equipment as efficiently as possible, keeping throughput moving through to the gluer – also supplied by BOBST – and finished product out to our customers,” he said.
Print & Pack NSW sales manager Miro Williams said the BOBST NOVACUT installed at Kemps Creek is not only the most recent installation of this technology in Australia, but also among the most efficient.
“One of the reasons why this particular BOBST NOVACUT machine delivers maximum productivity for IVE is because it has been commissioned with several important accessories,” he said.
“The IVE machine folder gluer features a batch inverter, easy feeder system, and a carton packing system – which when combined, significantly improves the automation of the product.
“Hence why there is not as much of a bottleneck with this finishing device compared to others in the market.
“BOBST die-cutting machines are well-engineered and based on the auto-platen invented by BOBST over 100 years ago which has been the platform for every die-cutter developed in the market ever since.
“The BOBST NOVACUT is made for running 24-hours a day, seven-days a week. The BOBST brand is synonymous with quality, and these machines are built to do this work – and they thrive on this work.
“If your packaging facilities are looking to maximise productivity and quality day after day, with ease of use thanks to advanced “HMI” and perfect registration, BOBST is the brand you should be looking for.”
