BOBST and Partners Wins Packaging Europe Sustainability Award for oneBARRIER FibreCycle

BOBST in partnership with UPM and Michelman were joint winners of the category along with Citeo and Partners. The award for oneBARRIER FibreCycle was presented to Sara Alexander and Carolin Struller from BOBST and Thierry Van Migem from Michelman at the ceremony held in Amsterdam on 14th November.

oneBARRIER FibreCycle is a paper-based, high barrier alternative to traditional plastic based flexible packaging and has been declared officially recyclable by PTS, 4evergreen, Aticelca and Western Michigan University.  Developed as a joint end-to-end project by BOBST, UPM and Michelman, FibreCycle is a high barrier, recycle-ready fibre-based structure and is the successful outcome of 4 years of in-depth R&D studies and an extensive test program, carried out on production scale equipment.
