BOBST iMA suports the machine operator by automatically selecting the optimized setting for different metallization processes for a faster and smoother change over time. It builds BOBST process expertise into the machine therefore reducing operator training time.
Lack of skilled workforce
To ensure good barrier on metallized film, the aluminium pool size on the boat needs to be controlled manually by the operator which can be very difficult especially on a very wide metallizer. Coupled with a lack of skilled workforce in the industry currently, this has lead to a need to be able to better control efficiency of the metallizing process.
This means more automation is needed on the equipment in order to: reduce skill levels needed from the operator, reduce the risk of human error and free up the operator to carry out other activities whilst the machine is running. By implementing this automation, you can obtain: more efficient production, more consistent metallized film and less need for skilled operators.
