The LB701-UV UV inkjet press features 170 mm print width with up to 6 colors, including white, and the ability to print up to 70 meters per minute. The LB702-UV has 340 mm print width and a speed of up to 100 meters per minute.

Nivaldo Pedro, digital print technical specialist, BOBST Latin America, explains that in addition to production flexibility, the new presses will allow companies to fulfill orders much faster. “If time is a determining factor and you need to deliver labels in 24 to 48 hours, you can’t meet that deadline with conventional processes. Only digital offers this agility and flexibility,” he says.

The LB701-UV and LB702-UV also meet the main market demand for label conversion: increased production at lower cost. With complex technology, but an extremely simple interface, the press can be operated by only one employee. They also allow printing of 1 to 1 million labels with the same quality and competitiveness. According to Nivaldo, these characteristics become a real differentiator for the converters that are investing in BOBST digital technology.

“Being able to serve the market according to its specific demands in an agile way is currently the main differentiator for converters. Therefore, investing in high-tech equipment such as the LB701 and LB702 is crucial,” says the technician.

Nivaldo also comments that BOBST new digital equipment meet more than 90% of the needs of the labels industry and comes with a set of services that improves the customer experience and the use of the presses.

“Here in Brazil, we have a large inventory of parts, so we can offer customers an Uptime Kit. That is, a kit with the most common components, those that can easily be replaced directly by the customer as needed, such as filters, connections, and other routine items, thus allowing the lowest downtime (machine stop) possible. We also have a service called BOBST Connect which provides remote connection to the machine for analysis and diagnostics. We have a local technical team and if necessary, we have the support of the plant in Lausanne, Switzerland, as well as support from Bobst North America. Finally, we have the Demo Center in Itatiba, where we perform everything, from simple demonstrations to real jobs,” he says.

In the case of the Demo Center, Nivaldo claims it’s a great differentiator, because it generates ease and agility in the development of new products for customers. “We have a full pre-press setup here, so the client can send a PDF and the substrate, and we make all the impositioning, printing, necessary changes, tests reprint, that is the complete development. With this option, customers can keep their equipment running while we develop the solution. Because it is not only to offer a machine, to provide parts and inks, it is to bring a complete experience to the user,” finalizes the technician.
