The Lenze 9400 Drive

The Lenze 9300 is end-of-life. Parts are disappearing, and one failure could shut down your operation for days. Our Lenze 9400 retrofit gives you a controlled, proactive path forward—before it becomes a crisis.

Don’t Let Outdated Drives Take Down Your Line

In today’s interconnected manufacturing environment, a single outdated drive can cascade into a full production stoppage. The Lenze 9300 series is no longer manufactured or supported. The question isn’t if you’ll face a failure. It’s when.

The Lenze 9400 retrofit program replaces aging 9300 drives with superior 9400 series technology, axis by axis, on your timeline.

The result: tighter drive synchronization, stronger machine performance, and a supply chain that isn’t one shortage away from disaster.

Three Reasons to Act

Keep Production Moving

Synchronized 9400 drives streamline communication across all machine elements, reducing production risk and boosting throughput.

Protect What You’ve Built

This upgrade removes your exposure to unpredictably long and expensive machine downtime, and ensures you’re never dependent on components the manufacturer no longer supplies.

Think 10 Years Ahead, Not 10 Days

Proactive obsolescence management extends your equipment’s lifecycle and locks in your spare parts supply.

Product Specifications

Eligible Equipment

  • Compatible machines: FFG-DRO NT 12XX–16XX (RS / HBL / MOBILE variants) and FFG 924 NT
  • Applicable elements: All FFG-DRO elements
  • Upgrade path: Lenze 9300 Series → Lenze 9400 Series
  • Installation method: Independent, axis-by-axis—no full machine shutdown required
  • Prerequisite (first-gen machines): OBS019 supervisory system upgrade required before 9400 retrofit for machines with embedded WinAC PLC

Element Installation Time

  • For the FFG-DRO NT 12XX–16XX feeder, 3 days per axis is needed for this retrofit.
  • For all other elements, 2 days per axis.

Engineered for Control

Axis-by-Axis Flexibility

  • Every 9300 drive is replaced independently—no forced full-machine shutdown
  • Phase the upgrade around your maintenance windows and keep production running while you modernize

Preventive Maintenance by Design

  • Enables structured, predictable maintenance scheduling
  • Dramatically reduces the likelihood of sudden, expensive failures
  • A strategic reset, not a reactive patch

Drive Reuse Strategy

  • Drives removed from upgraded axes can be repurposed as on-hand spares for future failures
  • Built-in safety net that gets smarter with every axis you upgrade

Synchronized Performance

  • The 9400 series enables seamless communication across all drives
  • Eliminates the lag and instability that comes with mixed-generation technology
  • Your machine performs as one cohesive system

Stop Reacting, and Start Winning

Obsolescence doesn’t wait for a convenient moment. Every day your 9300 drives stay in service is another day of unnecessary risk. The 9400 retrofit gives you a clear, manageable path to a more resilient operation—axis by axis, on your terms.
