EcoVadis Sustainability Ratings: BOBST’s Remarkable Progress

BOBST has made impressive strides in its sustainability journey, as shown by its recent EcoVadis ratings.

In 2023, BOBST earned a Silver Medal with a score of 63, placing it in the top 20% of companies. This achievement reflected significant improvements in labor and human rights policies, health and safety measures, employee representation, ISO certifications, and carbon footprint reduction.

Building on this success, BOBST received an even higher rating of 69 from EcoVadis in 2024, maintaining its Silver Medal status and advancing to the top 15% of companies. This score significantly positions us above the industry benchmark of 51.

"The improving EcoVadis scores reflect the fantastic progress we are making with our sustainability strategy," said Sylvain Lieb, Head of Corporate Sustainability at BOBST. This recognition highlights BOBST's commitment to addressing global issues through science-based approaches and its continuous pursuit of excellence in sustainability.

What is EcoVadis?

Founded in 2007, EcoVadis is a global provider of sustainability ratings to more than 120,000 companies worldwide, including multinationals such as Nestlé, LVMH, and Johnson & Johnson. Companies undergo a process of questioning relevant to their business field and activities and must substantiate their declarations. They then receive a global score calculated from four categories: labor and human rights, environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

How BOBST plans to maintain its momentum

BOBST is determined to keep up this positive momentum through several key strategies:

  1. Continuous improvement: ongoing enhancements to sustainability practices, focusing on decarbonization, health and safety, information security, and ethics and transparency
  2. Innovation and technology: leveraging new technologies to offer customers solutions with reduced carbon footprint and efficiency gains, such as zero-fault packaging, reduced waste, and improved setup time
  3. Employee engagement: aligning teams worldwide with BOBST's sustainability goals and values
  4. Stakeholder collaboration: working closely with suppliers, customers, and industry partners to drive collective progress
  5. Regular assessments: continuing to participate in benchmarks like EcoVadis to track performance and identify areas for improvement
  6. Sustainability reporting: maintaining transparency through regular reporting on progress and achievements

These strategies reflect BOBST's dedication to sustainability leadership and its commitment to a positive impact on the environment and society.
