Brazilian printing company Ingáflex ID Solutions continuously bets on innovative technology and strategic partnerships to remain among the leading suppliers of labelling materials for the world’s largest chilled food manufacturers.
The company has now invested in a BOBST NOVA M1 flexo press to produce high-quality labels for its brand owner customers. Focusing on the chilled food segment, Ingáflex was established in Maringá, in the State of Paraná, in 2007. Within just two years, the label specialist expanded and relocated to a new production facility more than double in size, and in the process acquired the machinery from a competitor. The following year, the company moved its headquarters to the city of Marialva, 20 km from Maringá, setting up shop in a 2000 sqm factory. In response to new demands, Ingáflex broadened its scope into the RFID segment in 2012 aiming to meet the needs of this emerging market.
Today Ingáflex is among the top 10 suppliers of labels for the chilled food industry in Brazil, but multiple investments made over the years have also allowed the company to diversify into more market segments, such as household cleaning, beverages, hygiene, veterinary, and petfood, among others. CEO Douglas Scomparin explains that over the past 15 years, the company has overcome many challenges by investing in the team and new product development. “Our R&D team is constantly updating our capabilities and looking for new solutions, precisely so that we always stay ahead in the chilled food market,” he says.
Another point that the entrepreneur highlights is the investment in state-of-the-art equipment, such as the new BOBST NOVA M1 inline flexo press. This versatile machine can print on self-adhesive stock from paper to PET, BOPP and PVC, unsupported paper, and light cartonboard, at up to 180 m/min with fast setup and minimum waste. “After comparing the BOBST NOVA M1 with a local machine, we found that on average, the BOBST press gave us an efficiency gain of 50–60%. And as our operators have grown in confidence and the ability to get the best out of the new equipment, our quality and efficiency have continued to increase,” comments Mr. Scomparin.
He also points to the excellent durability of the materials provided by BOBST, which he says last twice as long. “This efficiency of materials and all equipment, even though you are paying a little more, gives you greater durability and higher return throughout production. It’s amazing! You can always rely on the high quality of any print produced on a machine with BOBST technology and precision,” he exclaims. Finally, the CEO praises the relationship he has with BOBST’s sales and technical team, who he says always endeavor to understand the company’s exact needs and offer the most appropriate equipment to serve them. “This sincerity, this search for the right equipment that will give you greater results, regardless of the sale, makes us very satisfied. They want to sell what will give the best return for me.”
The rewarding experience with the new press and the great relationship with the BOBST team are the key factors that allow Ingáflex to predict growth of between 10% and 20% for 2022. Mr. Scomparin concludes, “The BOBST NOVA M1 is on another level and the work we have done with BOBST gives us more confidence and capacity to find new opportunities in the market.”
