EXPERT K5 Metallizer

Design innovations

  • The K5 EXPERT features design innovations throughout the machine including a totally redesigned evaporation source to improve collection efficiency, a new 700mm diameter drum and a more intuitive HMI screen.

Improved reliability

  • The EXPERT K5 has been designed with reliability and robustness in mind and as such has a host of new features to give our customers total peace of mind and product quality consistency.

Energy saving and waste reduction

  • The ECO mode reduces energy consumption by up to 50% during stand-by using a complex software programme that delivers energy and cooling water only when is needed, hence providing a reduced carbon footprint. The Film Save mode has a synchronised faster shutter action and aluminium wire ramp up.

Automatic Sequential Control (ASC)

  • Another brand new feature, unique in the industry is the Automatic Sequential Control (ASC) system which speeds up start-up of the machine with minimum operator involvement required, making the  EXPERT K5 easy to operate.

Metallizing

  • Largest coating window in the industry which along with the new 700 mm drum improves collection efficiency by 16%. As an option, the High Deposition (HD) source has an improved design for higher speed of operation for those metallization jobs that require a high deposition rate of up to 4.0 OD.

Improved winding

  • In the winding zone, new direct drives on the winders eliminates potential loss through indirect drive. The Shaft Vacuum Seals are highly resistant to friction, they are also longer lasting, easy to replace and are an off-the shelf part. Also giving low roller friction are the Ferrofluidic seals on the chucks.

Intuitive and easy to operate

  • A more intuitive HMI screen and software interface make the machine easy to operate. In addition the machine features new shaftless chucks as well as an easy to maintain part assembly design.

Faster venting and pump downs

  • Faster venting and pump down times result in a reduced production cycle which increases the number of rolls per day.

Reduced cost of ownership

  • The Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the EXPERT K5 is reduced by up to 25% compared to competitor metallizers in the market.
